Business Development is not the same as Sales.

 

It for example includes a more in-depth review of

  • the products / services on offer; how to maximise the profit while remaining competitive

  • the existing clients base; identify which clients to try to develop further, which to leave 'as is' and which to potentially end the cooperation with

  • potential new clients; which ones or type to try to recruit and what it'd take to do so
